Jesuits for Climate Justice – COP29 Campaign
“I ask everyone to accompany this pilgrimage of reconciliation with the world that is our home and to help make it more beautiful.”
-Pope Francis, Laudate Deum, 2023
COP29, the annual global climate summit, is scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024. Leaders unite for two weeks of crucial climate discussions. This UN conference is an important part of the international calendar as we collectively grapple with rising emissions and the increasingly obvious impacts of climate change.
Are you curious about climate justice, have interest on how COP29 operates, or looking for ways of how to get involved? Jesuits for Climate Justice – COP29 Campaign, prepared jointly by the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice (Ire), the Jesuit European Social Centre (EU), Jesuit Missions UK, the Arrupe Centre (Madagascar) and the Jesuit Centre for Ecology and Development (Malawi), seeks to inform and advocate on important climate issues up to and during the upcoming COP29.
